A little about me...


Stephen Martin MSc MCSP SRP BSc (Hons)

Stephen is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated from Robert Gordon University with First Class Honours.  Following this, Stephen worked in the NHS gaining experience in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions.  Stephen has extensive experience working in sport and is the lead Physiotherapist for Hibernian FC under 16s and Edinburgh University Ladies RFC. Stephen is also holds a Masters of Science degree in Strength and Conditioning at Edinburgh University.

Throughout his Masters Stephen has designed and coached strength, conditioning and injury prevention programmes to a range of athletes including national level athletes. Stephen’s mixed background of physiotherapy and strength and conditioning allows him to take a holistic approach to rehabilitation where the focus goes beyond treating one area or joint and he specialises in making a fitter and stronger you.

At Back2Fitness he is able to work athletes of all levels as well as non athletes in designing and rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes, as well as working with individuals who’s goals are to regain fitness and meet their individuals targets.

Having suffered several injuries Stephen is also familiar with the path towards recovery and recognises the difference effective treatment and rehabilitation can make. Outside of physiotherapy, Stephen is a keen rugby player and continues to play for Heriots RFC.
